ASAP (After School Acceleration Program)

East Africa Missions
Coordinates efforts to fund and build schools and medical clinics in East Africa. A collaborative ministry between people in East Africa and others started by Jenny Fife's sister, Sue Rickert, in 2000. Jenny Fife 343-8140.
Endowment Board

Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD)
Provides emergency relief and development assistance to folks in need around the world. The principle international R & D ministry of the Episcopal Church.
Fred Cruser 380-5822Nursing Home Eucharistic Ministry
Conducts worship services monthly for residents of several nursing homes and retirement communities. Call the Rector 774-5183
Rector’s Discretionary Fund
Provides assistance to the suffering. Funds some ministries inside the parish on occasion. Speak to the Rector 774-5183.
Summer SEEDS (St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Day School)
Offers special weeklong camps featuring music, puppetry, arts and crafts, theater arts, creative writing, and religious instruction. Richie Alldredge and Jim Tucker, 774-5183.
Southwest Social Club
Together with Christ Lutheran Church, St. E’s provides food, fellowship, and entertainment for residents of area adult homes twice a month. Bruce Bias, 772-2590.
St. Francis House
Coordinates collection of food for the disadvantaged and poor to be distributed through St. Francis House Food Pantry. Educates the parish about social justice/poverty issues. Look for the green “tub” in the entryway. Violet Farrell-Pressley, 989-1847.
Turning Point Ministries
Supports residents of the Salvation Army Shelter who are affected by domestic violence.

Worship
Acolytes
Assist the Rector at the altar, light the candles, and take up the collection. Speak to the Rector 774-5183.
Altar Guild
Prepares and maintains the altar, the linens and vessels used in worship, and decorates the worship space. Joan Freeland 769-0066
Chalicists
Administer the chalice during communion. Speak to the Rector 774-5183.
Counters
Count contributions after the late Sunday morning Service. Call the office 774-5183
Crucifers
Lead the procession in and out by carrying the cross. Speak to the Rector 774-5183.
Intercessors
Collect the people’s prayer intentions and thanksgivings for the day and lead the Prayers of the People on Sunday mornings. Speak to the Rector 774-5183.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers to the Ill and Infirm
Take communion to ill and infirm members of the parish who cannot come to church following the Sunday morning service. Jim Tucker 745-6694
Lectors
Read the Bible Lessons on Sunday mornings and occasionally lead the recitation of the psalm. Speak to the Rector 774-5183.
Musicians
Singers and various instrumentalists who lead the congregation in singing on Sunday mornings. Clif Collins 540-721-8425.
Ushers

Baptism
Initiation into Christ’s Body, the Church. Holy Baptism for adults, children, and infants may be arranged by talking with the Rector. This celebration is included as part of a scheduled service 4 or 5 times a year. It represents Call the office 774-5183.
Confirmation, Reception, Reaffirmation
Confirmation is marked by a mature person’s affirming for themselves the baptismal vows made for them when they were children or by them as in another communion. Reception involves individuals from another liturgical parish publicly affiliating with the Episcopal Church. Reaffirmation has to do with individuals from another Episcopal Church joining St. E’s. and reaffirming their baptismal vows. Classes are held periodically. Call the office 774-5183.
Funerals
The Rector is available to meet with anyone to plan their funeral, or bereaved family members following a death. Call the Rector 774-5183 or 343-8140.
Weddings
Holy Matrimony may be arranged by speaking with the Rector. Marriage in the church requires premarital counseling. Remarriage following a divorce requires at least 30 days notice and the Bishop’s permission. Call the office 774-5183.
Worship Committee
Assists the Rector in planning, organizing, and evaluating worship. Educates the parish about worship in the Anglican tradition. Stephen Richards 725-3526.

Education/Formation
Adult Education Sunday Morning Forum
This group meets on occasion after the Sunday morning service at 11:30 am. In recent years, we have addressed issues that are of concern to all parishioners, both newcomers and established members. We debate and discuss a variety of subjects. Stephen Richards 725-3526.
Endowment Ministry
Encourages parishioners to provide for church ministries in the future through planned gifts of assets. Suzan Anderson 776-9096.
Newcomers Orientation Classes
Introduce those new to the parish to St. E’s and the Episcopal Church, Held periodically, these classes help new people better connect with one another and longer term members of the church. They are meant to help participants become more comfortable at St. E's and help them determine what ministries they might wish to engage in. Those interested should talk with the Rector 774-5183.
Stewardship
Educates parishioners about the importance of managing their resources of time, talent and money to build God’s Kingdom. Coordinates the Fall Pledge Drive. Kathy Killian 774-8652.

Card Ministry
Sends cards to parishioners on special occasions. Charlotte Hines 772-3912.
Clergy Visits
The Rector is happy to visit ill and infirm members of the parish at home, in the hospital, or in retirement homes. Call the office for an appointment 774-5183.
Coffee Hour
Prepares coffee and light refreshments for the fellowship “hour” after the Sunday morning services. Kathy Killian 774-8652 and David Lisk 342-5868.
Drivers/Transportation Ministry
Drive folks needing rides to and from church. Call the office 774-5183
Knitting Ministry
Meets on the 3rd Thursdays to pray over and knit simple scarves "as symbols of God's surrounding love" to present to those experiencing special joys or sadnesses. Each scarf or knitted item is blessed in a church service before it is given. Kathy Killian 774-8652.
Fellowship/Hospitality and Lenten Suppers
Organizes and arranges for food for various functions of the church throughout the year such as Lenten Suppers, Special Receptions or Stewardship Dinners. Charlotte Hines 772-3912.
Lenten Suppers
Occasions to meet in Lent for fellowship, study, a simple supper, and a brief worship service. Charlotte Hines 772-3912, Kathy Killian 776-8652, and Joan Freeland 769-0066.
Lunch Bunch
Meets at 12:30 pm on the 2nd Tuesday of the month for food and fellowship. Bring a dish to share. Teddy Smusz, 342-3606, David Lisk 342-5868.

Special Children’s Ministries
Children’s Choir
Teaches about God, music and how to sing. The choir practices monthly.

Intergenerational Workshops
Organizes fun projects for all ages during special church seasons. Call the office,

Provides childcare for infants and children up to 4 years old from 9:45 am to 11:15 am on Sunday mornings. Kathy Killian at the office 774-5183.
Puppetry
Entertains and teaches children and adults Biblical lessons and religious truths using puppets. Jim Tucker 745-6694.
Church School
Teaches older children about God, Jesus Christ, the faith community and the sacraments through worship, Bible stories, and arts and crafts. Clif Collins, 721-8425
Administration
Budget/Finance
Oversees the church’s finances, pays bills, tracks contributions, and generates financial statements and contribution reports. Joan Freeland, Treasurer 769-006.
Columbarium
Provides bereavement assistance, a place to inter ashes and plaques to memorialize the departed. Terrell & Ann Holbrook, 774-3747.
Memorials
Maintains a list of items needed by the church and arranges for donors to give special gifts in memory of departed loved ones. Joan Freeland 769-0066.
Newsletter
Communicates news of interest to friends and parish members. Call the office 774-5183
Office Workers
Assists the Administrator in putting together the Sunday bulletins, monthly newsletters, and special mailings. Phone the office 774-5183.
Property
Manages church property matters and coordinates contractors and volunteers to maintain the church property and grounds. Gary Alldredge, Jr., Junior Warden 774-5183.
Vestry
With the Rector, sets policy and oversees all the church’s affairs. The elected lay leadership of the parish, the vestry meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm. Kathy Killian, Senior Warden 774-8652.
Vestry Officers
